Current Affairs 2010

1. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its forecast for global economic growth this year, 4% to 4.5%.

2. India to grow at 9.50 % in 2010 statement from IMF.

4. China signed a deal with Pakistan for building two new nuclear reactors.

5. G-8 Summit was held in Canada(Ontario’s Muskoka region).

6. G-20 Summit was held in Canada(Toranto).

7. Leaders at the G20 summit in Canada have agreed to cut national budget deficits while endeavoring to promote economic growth.

8. G-20 Seoul Summit will be held in Korea, in November,2010.

9. Tata Power will commission a 3 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Maharashtra located at Mulshi, by the end of 2010 year that will become the largest grid connected solar plant in the state.

10. Toyota-Kirloskar Motor Ltd (TKML) managing director Hiroshi Nakagawa.

11. The World Bank will provide Rs.5 billion to four north eastern states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura to create self-employment opportunities for the tribals and poor people living in rural and remote areas.

The Bank would provide the assistance for the North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP), starting this financial year (2010-11).

12. Former President and distinguished scientist Dr A P J Abdul Kalam said, India would be a developed country by 2020 with the support of science.

13. India signs two loan agreements worth $407 million with the World Bank for the development of micro-finance initiatives($300 million) and a more accurate statistical information system($107 million).

14. In recognition for his outstanding contribution to International Legal Co-operation, Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily has received the Next Step Foundation 2010 award.
